Taste of Nigeria Food Festival 2026 Is Coming to Wrexham — And Entry Is FREE!

The Taste of Nigeria Food Festival 2026 is coming to Wrexham Memorial Hall, bringing Nigerian food, culture, entertainment and community together for one big celebration.

The festival runs from 2pm until 10pm.

Food is obviously going to be a big part of the day. 😂

According to the event flyer, visitors can expect Nigerian favourites including:

Amala • Ewedu • Semo • Egusi • Massa • Akara • Beans & Plantain • Jollof Rice • Fried Yam — and more.

Organisers have also said a range of vendors will be there offering Nigerian dishes, snacks and desserts, alongside handmade crafts.

💃🏾 It's Not Just About the Food

This festival is being created as a celebration of food, music, culture and community.

Organisers say the programme will include cultural performances, Nigerian music, traditional dance and live demonstrations.

There are plans for a live cooking demonstration as well as a demonstration of an ancient Nigerian hairstyle.

Traditional dance performers are also expected to be part of the programme, while a DJ will provide Nigerian music throughout the festival.

This isn't being positioned as an adults-only food event.

Organisers say there will be a dedicated children's area with activities including bouncy castles and face glitter, making it something families can enjoy together.

One thing Auntie Tobi particularly loves about this event is the idea behind it.

Organiser Pamela Okoye told local media that she and a small team of women created the festival to celebrate Nigerian culture while bringing different communities together.

Although Wrexham's Nigerian community is part of the inspiration, the event isn't only for Nigerians.

The organisers want Welsh residents and people from other communities to come along, experience Nigerian culture and enjoy the day too.

That means this could also be the perfect event to bring that friend or colleague who keeps asking:

“What does Nigerian jollof actually taste like?” 😂
